Dental Drills – Cancelling out the noise!
As it turns out, most people who have dental phobia mostly associate the shrill sound of the drill to be either the primary cause or that it brings out the anxiety associated with their form of dental phobia. To that effect, scientists are trying to develop a sound muffling headphone that would to a great extent cancel out the sound of the drill to alleviate the problems associated with it.
Still in the testing phases, all the patient needs is a pair of headphones that is plugged into the dental equipment that has the signature of the drill’s sound producing white noise to cancel it out. You can also get your favorite tunes piped in just in case the silence tends to be deafening to your ears.
